Automotive Trades Technology
Automotive technicians are in high demand. From
computerized diagnostics to hands-on repair, students in the
Automotive Trades Technology program learn how to service and
maintain all types of cars and light trucks. This two-year program
covers engine theory and specialized tools and equipment to customer
service and shop management.
Students work on late-model vehicles donated by automotive
manufacturers and their own vehicles. Many students completing this
program continue their professional education at college or
automotive schools.
National certification:
Career & Tech's Automotive Trades Technology program is certified by the National Automotive Technicians Education Foundation/National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE). To become certified, the program must meet stringent requirements for instructor, curriculum and learning environment.

Portfolio:
Seniors create a portfolio which they present to teachers, administrators, peers and/or industry professionals. The portfolio includes employability information and exemplary work in technical and communication skills that students have created and developed over the course of the year.
