Culinary students make big deposit of time and talent into Food Bank dinner

Culinary Arts & Hospitality Technology Teacher Chef Paul Rother, Teaching Assistant Lena Herbert and dozens of their students made a big bank deposit recently, not of cash but of time and talent. They helped raise awareness and funds for the Regional Food Bank of Northeastern New York at the 16th Annual Chefs & Vintners’ Harvest Dinner on September 23 at the Glen Sanders Mansion, Scotia. The event involves chefs from across the Capital Region and features elaborate tasting stations and a six-course dinner. Word has it the students did more than their share of helping out, lending an educated hand with 2,400 plates of food. "In all my years of doing this event," said Chef Rother, "I couldn't be prouder!"
