This week, Capital Region BOCES Special Education staff worked with Schalmont school district to create a holding space for donated supplies, clothing and housewares in the gymnasium/cafeteria of the former Woestina Elementary School.

This past spring, BOCES contracted with the Schalmont school district for the use of the former Woestina Elementary school (more on that here), which will now house six elementary school special education classes beginning this September.

Due to continued flooding related to Hurricanes Irene and Lee, the start of the first day of school for special education students at the Woestina site, previously set for this Thursday, September 8, was delayed. The school will remain open between the hours of 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. for Schalmont community members needing to access the donated goods. (More information)
