New location for Tech Awareness Day

Annual event will be held at Holiday Inn Albany Dec. 9

Regional Technology Awareness Day, an annual event organized by the Northeastern Regional Information Center set for Dec. 9, must change locations due to construction scheduled at the original event site.

The event is now being held at The Holiday Inn Albany, Wolf Road, Albany. It was originally booked at The Desmond Hotel & Conference Center.

A mailing with this information will be sent to school districts. NERIC staff are ready to assist with any technology needs for presentations, hotel room reservation changes, vendor booth setups, or any other questions related to the event location change.

Anyone with questions is asked to contact Lisa Schaeffer, NERIC statewide coordinator, at (518) 862-5335 or via e-mail at aschaeff@gw.neric.org.

Each year, the Northeastern Regional Information Center holds a Regional Technology Awareness Day for the K-12 school community in our service area, which includes 12 counties, seven BOCES and 137 school districts.

This event brings together numerous stakeholders dedicated to the advancement of educational technology: school superintendents, building principals, school business officials, technology coordinators, teachers and, most importantly, students. During the event, these groups are given opportunities to demo new educational technology products from NERIC vendor partners, watch presentations from different school districts, and attend information sessions facilitated by NERIC staff. These opportunities are meant to generate questions, build new relationships and spark ideas for using technology in meaningful ways within classrooms and school operations.
