This service is available only to those districts subscribing to Library Automation and Technical Services and is at an additional cost. This service develops a customized response to the specific library technology needs of the requesting district. Typical projects may include: transfer of library records to a machine-readable format; custom cataloging; non-book cataloging; bibliographic record updating; batch processing; authority control service; MARC record enhancement; purchase of barcode readers; maintenance of barcode assignments, tape extracts and data loads of converted records; global systems’ operations to improve cataloging data; oversight of the transfer of student data into the circulation system; coordination of training for district library staff with hands-on system training; and coordination of staff to assist in preparation of collection and inventory.
