Library Media Services of the Capital Regions BOCES
- Vision, Mission and Goals
- The Library Media Services at the Capital Region BOCES are located
within the School Support Services Division of the organization. This
comprehensive service includes four programs: the school library system;
Instructional Media service; television and video production; and A-V
Repair.
- All
programs serve the students, faculty and administration of component
members. Additionally, the School Library System serves the non-public
schools of the area as well as the public and academic library research
needs of the state.
- The School Library System in partnership with the 158
school libraries of the area, brings cost effective, modern library
service to some
of the millions of people who use New York's 7000 academic, public,
school and special libraries.
- Our Vision:
- Library Media Services in the School Support Services Division help
librarians find new ways of serving and collaborating with students,
faculty and administrators as well as making library and instructional
media resources available to all of the members of their school community.
- Our Mission:
- Library Media Services develop and improve resources and information
services that all students, faculty and administrators need for their
lifelong learning and enjoyment.
- Who We Are:
- Library Media Services is a team comprised of four people who work
daily with 210 library professionals, and some of the 7,600 teachers
of the area.
- What We Do:
- Library Media Services is a strong voice for library, video and information
services at the local, regional and state levels. Librarians, students,
