About us
- Library Automation
Since its inception in the mid 1980’s, the Capital Region BOCES Library Automation Service has led the effort to implement computer technology to manage school libraries. Currently, the service administers the SirsiDynix Symphony integrated library system for 57 public and private K-12 schools. The Symphony system enables school library staff to manage patron information, circulation and management of library collections, which include books, media, equipment and resources vital to achieving 21st century curriculum goals. Students and faculty in the participating schools have access to the online catalog of resources 24/7 enabling learning to extend beyond the bricks and mortar of the traditional classroom. In addition to actively supporting 21st century learning through the online catalog, the service provides library system training and technical cataloging services to member libraries. We are honored to support the information systems needs of our clients, who provide excellent, high quality library services to their students and faculty.
